Bradley Cooper has signed on for one of the best-titled crime thrillers ever.

The "Hangover" star is looking to do some time as he's joined the crew of director J. Blakeson's new job, "Bad Blood and Trouble," according to Variety.

"Bad Blood and Trouble" is a '50s-set noir tale that follows a Miami detective (Cooper) who falls in love with a married woman whose husband is threatened by criminals. The film marks Blakeson's follow-up to his impressive feature debut, the unsettling kidnapping thriller "The Disappearance of Alice Creed."

As Cooper's schedule is booked solid for the next, like, year, "Bad Blood and Trouble" won't start shooting until the second half of 2013 — which makes us wonder when he thinks he's going to fit in Clint Eastwood's "A Star is Born." Yes, Cooper is apparently in the running to play the male lead in Eastwood's remake of the classic show biz tale, though we highly doubt he'll be able to take the gig unless production is postponed — and we have a feeling ol' Clint won't go for that (even though it seems "Star" keeps getting put on the Warner Bros. back burner for various reasons).

Bradley Cooper will be spending most of the rest of the year shooting "The Hangover Part III," which will hit theaters on May 24, 2013, and from there he'll probably segue right into working with David O. Russell on "American Bulls**t" (or whatever it ends up being called). He'll next be seen in "The Words," opening Sept. 21, and "Silver Linings Playbook," opening Nov. 21.
